FEdS was established in 1996 by Brian Stevens, who saw the need to connect education, business and education in a neutral but creative space. It started out as Financial Education Services because Brian set it up after working as Director of the Banking Information Service, where he established strong connections with the education sector. Since then FEdS has developed a wider remit across the worlds of business, education and government to improve the provision of education and skills in the UK.
In 2008 FEdS joined the Prospects Group, a leading provider of careers, education, and training services. With its support and encouragement, FEdS works with editorial independence in areas important to the mission and vision of both.
In October 2010 Rachael Campey became Chief Executive of FEdS.
