Richard runs a independent consulting and advisory business (Hadfield Consultants Ltd) helping government to achieve its policy and budget goals, as well as enabling IT and consulting organisations to successfully contract and partner with the public sector. He has 18 years of experience (in the hi-tech industry) of working across various industries and for the last 8 years has worked with the education and skills sector. He was, latterly, the Director of Education & Skills at Logica where he ran a division that enables Ofsted’s changing regulatory and inspection role, a service (eCommon Assessment Framework) that will provide a nationwide assessment tool for 360,000 practitioners who work with children and young people and a service that has delivered 10 million learner numbers to young and adult learners that helps ensure a trusted and collaborative skills system across England. At BT Richard led relationships with both the DfE and local authorities around education and children’s services and ran a cross BT team engaged upon the Home Access programme. He is currently working with the Raceonline 2012 initiative as well as with various IT and consulting organisations. Â

Richard is the Chair of Intellect’s Education Group and represents the hi-tech industry’s views to government around the curriculum, procurement and technology strategy. He is a conference speaker and media commentator.Â
